The Federal Government’s 50 per cent tax deduction is still available to eligible small businesses from now until 31st December.

The additional 50 per cent tax deduction is for eligible assets costing $1,000 or more acquired from 13th December 2008 to 31st December 2009 and installed by 31st December 2010. In order for a small business to benefit from this tax break they must have a turnover of $2 million or less a year.

This month we would like to introduce you to one of our brand new staff members – Duncan Bearder – who has been with Essendon Honda for only a matter of days. Duncan joins us as our Business (Finance and Insurance) Manager after having previously worked at our finance provider, Esanda Finance, racking up nine years experience in the financial industry.   Yet even after such a short time at Essendon Honda, Duncan says he already feels at home, as it is a fantastic place to work where everyone is very willing to help out the new guy and share their wealth of knowledge. One thing though that our team may be surprised to learn is that Duncan is an avid field hockey player and coach, having first played when he was five years old, and continued for the last 37 years. He has also tried his hand at coaching, taking his side to win the premiership for the past three years, which makes his record stand as three for three as a coach. Already picking up the ropes at Essendon Honda, Duncan says that his dream car is an Aston Martin and says that the most important thing to look for in a new car is something that matches your personality. We welcome Duncan to the Essendon Honda team and wish him all the best, especially on the hockey field!
